Museo di Storia Naturale di Venezia Giancarlo Ligabue

The ethnographic section of the general “Giancarlo Ligabue” collection consists of a wide range of objects gathered or purchased by Dr. Giancarlo Ligabue in the second half of the twentieth century, during numerous scientific expeditions carried out by what was then the “Centro Studi e Ricerche Ligabue”, today the “Fondazione Ligabue”. The reports of these expeditions were often published in “Ligabue Magazine”. As far as Indigenous American artifacts are concerned, the collection mainly contains materials from the Amazon region, some Mesoamerican, Central American, and Andean archaeological objects, as well as a North American headdress.
