Chiesa di Santa Maria in Vallicella (Chiesa Nuova)

In the Sacristy of the Chiesa di Santa Maria in Vallicella (also known as Chiesa Nuova) – Congregazione dell’Oratorio di San Filippo Neri – there are preserved two exceptional Christian liturgical vestments in linen and silk, decorated with feather mosaic. Dating from between the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, they were produced in the western regions of New Spain by P’urhépecha artists.
